Boeing is advancing its data-driven transformation by building scalable data pipelines, innovative data products, and robust platforms that empower business insights and operational excellence. In this role, you will develop strategy and maintain data products across various on-premises and cloud platforms with a cloud-agnostic approach. You will collaborate closely with executives and senior leaders from Architecture, Information Technology (IT) cross-divisions, Business, Data Science, Product Management, Cloud teams, and Data Engineers to drive the development and delivery of end-to-end data solutions that support Boeing’s digital transformation and business objectives. The Senior Manager will lead teams responsible for the development and deployment of data pipelines, data product lifecycle management, and platform capabilities that support Data and AI initiatives, while effectively communicating progress and strategic priorities to executive stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities:
Set the vision and roadmap for data platforms and products, aligning with business and digital strategies, and manage their full lifecycle from inception to value realization
Develop data products delivering insights across functions such as supply chain, pricing, quality, Materiel Release Order (MRO), finance, and engineering, driving adoption across the digital organization
Partner with architecture, insights, data product leaders, and cross-division stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, secure technical requirements for the data platform
Maintain and enhance existing data products across on-premises, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and Google Cloud environments, ensuring reliability and performance with a cloud-agnostic approach
Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, quality, and compliance standards across all data initiatives
Engage with executives and stakeholders to communicate progress, align on strategic priorities, and ensure transparency of data initiatives
Lead and manage a global team of data experts, developers, product managers, and delivery managers, fostering collaboration and high performance
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product value, support performance, and participate in technical deep dives to recommend optimal data architectures and reference models
Establish clear Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound (SMART) goals and KPIs to measure project success, product value, and operational performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform development, or related roles
7+ years of experience leading teams responsible for building data pipelines and data products
5+ years of experience with hands-on designing and delivering data products using reusable, platform-agnostic ETL/ELT frameworks and implementing modern data technologies such as data fabric, data virtualization, data mesh, and ontology/knowledge graph
5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP, including cloud-native data services
5+ years of experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and SQL for data processing
5+ years of experience in incorporating data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams and collaborating with architecture and product leadership
Experience supporting existing data platforms using ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks
Experience with processing and effectively managing petabytes of data from on-premises and cloud data stores such as Teradata, Exadata, Redshift, Databricks, and Snowflake
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience building data products and platform capabilities in hybrid (on-premises and multi-cloud) environments leveraging Data Mesh and reusable ETL frameworks
5+ years of experience building data pipelines including SAP ECC, SAP S4, MES, Engineering systems, Cloud, and unstructured data
Experience with machine learning lifecycle and MLOps
Experience with big data technologies, handling large volumes of unstructured and streaming data, ontology/knowledge graph, and contract data to support GENAI RAG architecture
Experience building self-service data platforms or data marketplaces
Experience in building and leading strong teams across different geographical regions
