Skills
- Proficiency in Python and asyncio.
- Experience with geospatial or astronomical image processing libraries (NumPy, Pandas, OpenCV, GDAL).
- Expertise in agile development, git, CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud computing environments like AWS Batch, AWS Lambda, Kubernetes, ARGO.
- Strong communication skills for articulating technical concepts.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement features for BlackSky’s core image processing system independently.
- Lead testing, debugging, and documentation of image processing software functionalities.
- Develop automated monitoring and regression testing processes for service quality assurance.
- Provide feedback during design sessions to ensure scalable, maintainable, and performant solutions.
- Assist operational tasks ensuring production environment stability.
- Identify requirement issues early and communicate proactively.
- Mentor engineers and scientists on software development best practices.
- Collaborate across teams to address cross-functional challenges in image processing.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
