The Senior Project Manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America will oversee a portfolio of medium to large-scale projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities: Manage project lifecycles from intake to close-out, ensuring timely completion, stakeholder communication, performance tracking, risk management, and resource allocation for multiple projects.
Skills: Advanced project management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong communication, problem-solving and organizational abilities, and experience in leadership roles within nonprofit or corporate environments.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, five or more years in project management, particularly in youth development, education, or nonprofit sectors, and preferred project management certification.
Location: 100% Remote within the Continental United States
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $85,000 - $125,000.
Position Purpose
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) follows the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) by supporting the Senior Director to ensure smooth progress in bringing BBBSA’s organizational projects to life. The SPM manages a portfolio of medium to large-scale projects aligned with BBBSA’s goals and strategic priorities, including implementing existing processes for system-level projects. The SPM focuses on cross-functional coordination to reinforce decision-making, monitor budgets, and track resources in conjunction with finance and department leads to ensure project success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management: Facilitate, coordinate, and manage a portfolio of existing and new projects which may include developing, controlling, and directing simultaneous multiple projects.
Project Governance: Manage projects through evaluation and analysis by gathering data for appropriate stakeholders and offering recommendations.
Change Management: Partner with cross-functional teams implementing plans designed by team and department leaders.

Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or related educational / professional certification equivalency, i.e., Project Management Certification preferred; In lieu of degree, candidate must have demonstrated, proven years of related work experience as outlined below.
Years of Related Work Experience: Five (5) or more years’ professional leadership experience in youth development, education or nonprofit environment preferred, or equivalent corporate project management leadership. Advanced project management experience and capabilities. Ease in leading cross-functional teams, demonstrated ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in fast-paced environment.
Skills and Knowledge: Advanced skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Highly skilled in project management, process/system development and development of effective implementation strategies; Prior position in a Project management office; Change management experience; Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Superior customer service skills, including good listening, problem diagnosis, establishing priorities and ability to manage and bring complex and detailed issues to resolution; Highly organized in approach, with ability to set and manage priorities; Flexible and ability to adapt to change; Project Management Certification.
