As a key member of the Fraud Strategy team within the Credit Risk Department, you will play a

crucial role in protecting the business against fraud risks in a rapidly evolving landscape. You

will be responsible for defining fraud prevention strategies, collaborating with data science

teams on sophisticated analytical solutions, and utilizing advanced AI technologies to enhance

fraud detection and prevention


Role Success Metrics
  • Significantly reduce 1st-party fraud losses (including income misrepresentation, bust-out schemes, and synthetic identities) through proactive trend analysis and the development of strategic fraud prevention rules
  • Minimize customer friction while ensuring a positive customer experience alongside robust fraud protection
  • Deploy advanced AI-based fraud prevention technologies


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of fraud patterns across Best Egg’s suite of products, addressing both first-party and third-party fraud
  • Analyze customer applications, credit bureau data, vendor data, and documents for signs of misrepresentation (e.g., inflated income, manipulated employment, fake references, synthetic or altered identities)
  • Identify patterns of bust-out fraud, first-payment default, and credit abuse through account performance reviews
  • Create and manage comprehensive fraud prevention strategies across identity and bank account verification
  • Lead projects involving Agentic AI technologies aimed at proactively detecting and mitigating complex emerging threats such as deepfakes and synthetic identities
  • Drive the development and refinement of advanced AI-based fraud detection solutions.
  • Perform deep-dive case reviews and strategic analyses, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with the Fraud Operations team to refine policies, procedures, and investigative methods
  • Employ sophisticated analytical techniques to manage and interpret large datasets effectively


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Risk Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in fraud management, preferably within the financial services sector
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and managing advanced fraud detection models and AI-powered solutions
  • Superior analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Proven experience collaborating successfully with cross-functional teams, especially those in data science and technology.
  • Ability to confidently present complex information and strategic recommendations to senior executives.
  • Preferred experience with fraud prevention rule management systems, device profiling, customer verification, and document authentication technologies.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong desire to positively impact the business and embrace innovative thinking.


$168,000 - $175,000 a year
In addition to semi-monthly salary payments, this position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance. The yearly incentive bonus target is 20%
