Skills
- Proven experience building, scaling, and optimizing search systems (OpenSearch/Elasticsearch/Lucene/Solr required)
- Design and implementation of multi-tenant services and APIs with SLO-driven thinking
- Experience with real-time data and streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, Flink)
- Infrastructure and deployment management using Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Kubernetes, or ECS
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and observability skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end projects from design and prototyping to deployment and large-scale rollout
- Define and champion long-term technical vision and platform strategy
- Design and implement resilient APIs, distributed systems, and indexing pipelines
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and product teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security via monitoring, testing, and optimization
- Mentor and support engineers to foster technical excellence and knowledge sharing
- Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, tooling, and architecture
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred but not required
