The Opportunity
This is a rare and high-impact opportunity to be the sole product designer on our team. You will be the architectural voice for our user experience and the creative force behind our product's visual identity. You won't just be executing tasks; you will be building the design discipline, establishing processes, and creating a scalable design system that will serve as the foundation for our product for years to come. Your work will directly influence our success and, by extension, the success of the thousands of non-profits and conscious brands we serve.
Who You Are
You are a seasoned product designer who thrives on ownership and ambiguity. You are as passionate about building elegant, user-centered interfaces as you are about constructing robust, scalable design systems. You are a strategic partner to Product and Engineering, capable of translating complex problems into simple, effective solutions. You are a self-starter who is eager to make your mark on a product with a profound mission.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Product Design: Lead the design process for key product initiatives—from discovery, user research, and wireframing to high-fidelity mockups, prototyping, and detailed hand-off to engineers.
Design System Architecture: Create, document, and maintain a comprehensive design system (from foundational elements to complex components) that ensures consistency, speeds up development, and scales with our product and team.
User Advocacy: Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights, validate concepts, and ensure our product effectively solves the real-world problems of our users in the social impact space.
Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with the Product team, CTO, CEO, and Engineering leads to define the product roadmap, contribute to product strategy, and advocate for the user experience.
Foundational Build-out: Establish design best practices, tools, and workflows within the product team. You will set the standard for quality and efficiency in product development.
Website & Brand Stewardship: Take ownership of our public-facing Beam Impact website, built on Framer. You will be responsible for maintaining, updating, and designing new pages to support marketing campaigns, product launches, and brand initiatives.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and creative direction to a junior integrations designer, helping them grow their skills and ensuring the quality and consistency of their work on embedded components and integration touchpoints.
Brand Stewardship: Maintain and evolve the Beam Impact brand identity, ensuring visual and experiential consistency across all product and marketing touchpoints.
Marketing & Sales Design: Create compelling marketing assets to drive growth, including sales decks, emails templates, case studies, social media content, and marketing assets.
