Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Solution Application Architect to join our growing team in Daytona, FL! 

 

The Senior Solution Application Architect is responsible for designing and managing enterprise cloud-based solutions with a strong focus on business alignment, security, and operational efficiency. It involves leading system architecture, driving DevOps and automation practices, collaborating across teams, and mentoring junior staff while ensuring timely delivery of secure, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions. 

 

How You Will Contribute: 

 

  • Architect division wide cloud-based solutions with a strong business focus. 

  • Evaluate and integrate third-party systems and solutions. 

  • Develop and present impactful cost-benefit analysis and viable recommendations. 

  • Own, manage, and operate several enterprise solutions and high availability platforms. 

  • Design and implement system, data and cloud architecture. 

  • Strong experience with cloud architecture in a PaaS, SaaS and IaaS environments. 

  • Develop and maintain strong DevOps and automation practices. 

  • Ensure the security of infrastructure and application design and development. 

  • Manage security and develop a plan to continuously improve security posture. 

  • Optimize and automate processes to improve efficiency. 

  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with business partners as a trusted technical advisor. 

  • Translate discussions into technical documents and requirement documents. Develop clear and easily understood process flows, architecture diagrams, technical documents, and test plans. 

  • Develop KPIs to track and measure progress. 

  • Foster a continuous improvement attitude and a growth mindset. 

  • Deliver results on time and within budget. 

  • Manage financial and project resources effectively. 

  • Work with technical staff to understand software problems and develop specifications to resolve them. 

  • Address customer concerns and propose process and systems enhancements. 

  • Act as a team leader as needed and train junior technical team members. 

  • Collaborate effectively in a decentralized and distributed model with full-time and contracted staff. 

  • Strong knowledge in designing, developing and testing APIs and software applications. 

  • Address system defects promptly and ensure minimal to no technical debt. 

  • Participate in requirement analysis and definition. 

  • Create technical specifications and unit test plans. 

  • Lead and promote a strong secure development mindset and provide guidance on secure coding practices. 

  • Apply Agile development methodologies to solve business needs in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Follow pre-established guidelines and create new guidelines to perform job functions. 

  • Demonstrate a high degree of creativity and problem-solving skills. 

  • Mature the software development life cycle within your area of responsibility and promote it across the organization. 

  • Support applications using software development methodologies, including structured programming, documentation, design, functional, non-functional and unit testing and manual and automated code scanning and reviews. 

  • Coach, train and mentor junior developers. 

  • Ensure consistent use of Azure DevOps to manage the full lifecycle. 

 

Skills & Experience to Be Successful: 
 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Master preferred. 

  • Minimum of 15 years experience in solution delivery. 

  • Strong understanding of requirements and estimation. 

  • Team player with the ability and willingness to mentor junior team members. 

  • Passion for learning new technologies and enhancing existing skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Self-starter who can work well in a team environment. 

  • A proactive individual who thrives in collaborative team settings. 

  • Proactive issue resolution with a positive attitude. 

  • Adaptability in a fast-changing business environment. 

  • Capable of operating at both macro and micro levels, linking work to business values.
