Legal Secretary - Hybrid (Houston, TX)
Avant Tech is seeking a Legal Secretary on behalf of a top national law firm. This role supports attorneys and practice groups in corporate law and offers a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and client service support to attorneys
- Draft, edit, and file legal documents with courts and agencies
- Manage billing, expense processing, time entry, and new matter openings
- Coordinate with internal departments (finance, client services, practice support)
- Maintain client files in document management systems
- Schedule meetings, prepare presentations, and manage reporting
- Support additional assignments and special projects as needed
- 4+ years of legal secretarial or legal admin experience (required)
- Direct corporate law experience (required); litigation background preferred
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Knowledge of legal billing, expense reporting, and timekeeping
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required
