Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of assistant controllers and accountants
- Ensure delivery of accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements within client deadlines
- Review rent rolls, reconcile bank statements, and monitor monthly operating results vs. budget
- Communicate regularly with clients about financial performance and respond to accounting inquiries
- Coordinate with operational teams to prepare and approve property budgets
- Support and coordinate financial audits, responding to audit requests and implementing recommended improvements
- Collaborate with Controller, CFO, and other leaders to set departmental objectives, policies, and procedures
- Participate in hiring, performance reviews, staffing recommendations, and efficiency improvements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA preferred
- CPA eligible or CPA preferred
