Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for an Associate Attorney (Commercial Loan Workout & Foreclosure)

Overview:
Our client, a prestigious full-service law firm with over 150 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Commercial Loan Workout and Foreclosure department. The ideal candidate will have expertise in commercial loan workouts and mortgage foreclosure litigation, with knowledge of New Jersey and/or New York foreclosure procedures being a strong plus. This role offers flexibility, with the option to work from either the firm’s New Jersey (Bergen County) or New York (NYC or Nassau County) offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage commercial mortgage foreclosure cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and court documents.
  • Oversee a foreclosure litigation caseload, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and depositions.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to provide high-quality legal services.
  • Maintain client communications, providing consultations and case updates.

Requirements:
Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New Jersey and/or New York State Bar.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in foreclosure litigation.
  • Proven track record in handling cases from inception to trial.
  • Familiarity with foreclosure software (e.g., LexisNexis) is a plus.

Other:

  • In-depth knowledge of New Jersey and/or New York foreclosure laws and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • High attention to detail in legal documentation and procedures.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $130,000 – $175,000 (depending on experience).
  • Benefits: Competitive benefits package.
