Job Overview
Our client seeks a skilled Electrical Estimator to prepare precise cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with market knowledge to deliver competitive bids while adhering to California codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to generate accurate estimates.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Solicit, review, and negotiate vendor/subcontractor quotes.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, budgets, and cost breakdowns.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits as required.
Requirements
Education:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
Experience:
- 3+ years of electrical estimating experience (commercial/industrial sectors).
- Proficiency in Accubid, Trimble, ConEst, or similar estimating software.
- Familiarity with NEC and California construction codes.
- Experience with design-build and plan/spec projects (a plus).
Skills:
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
