ML Perception - Lead
Skills
- 5+ years industry experience in autonomous driving perception systems
- Proven experience leading or mentoring ML engineering teams
- Strong programming in Python and/or C++
- Hands-on with modern deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience with lidar, radar, and camera perception modalities
- Expertise in object detection, long-range tracking, and production deployment
- Familiarity with synthetic data and closed-loop evaluation workflows
Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of advanced deep learning perception models for detection and tracking across camera, lidar, and radar
- Architect scalable, modular ML pipelines and ensure production readiness and deployment
- Collaborate with Planning, Prediction, and Simulation teams to define closed-loop metrics and evaluation
- Use real and synthetic data for model training, validation, and performance tuning
- Mentor and grow a team of machine learning engineers, promoting safety and engineering best practices
- Integrate perception outputs into an end-to-end autonomy stack and participate in system-level validation
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Master's or PhD in a relevant field preferred
