Skills
- 3+ years producing technical documentation with a portfolio of work.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering documentation and collaborating with engineers.
- Proficiency with a variety of content authoring and publishing tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills focused on technical subjects.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Active U.S. Top Secret SCI clearance (or ability to maintain one).
- Focus on user experience and clarity in documentation.
Responsibilities
- Generate, review, and edit user-focused technical documentation (requirements, manuals, procedures, checklists, user guides, troubleshooting guides, release notes).
- Partner with engineers and subject-matter experts to capture technical artifacts and close knowledge gaps.
- Act as editor and integrator of engineer-contributed content to produce polished deliverables.
- Develop and contribute to documentation processes, style guides, and the technical writing toolkit.
- Evaluate, prioritize, and manage documentation tasks to keep product documentation on track.
- Communicate risks, manage stakeholder expectations, and identify mitigations and resource needs.
- Work with Program Management to ensure contract deliverables are completed on time and to standard.
- Create training and processes to scale documentation contributions across teams.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent professional experience in technical writing and documentation accepted.
- Relevant certifications or coursework in technical communication are a plus.
