Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), SCFTA, and associated system safety assessments for maritime systems
- Identify, document, and manage hazards, risks, and mitigation measures across design, test, manufacturing, and field operations
- Draft and maintain Program System Safety Analysis Reports, System Safety Approach documentation, and System Safety Program Plans
- Develop and tailor Built-In-Test plans and support Reliability Engineering on qualification test plans
- Support milestone reviews (PDR, CDR, QDR) as the safety representative and present findings to stakeholders
- Drive corrective action from RCCA investigations and host regular corrective action reviews to closure
- Support end-to-end product safety planning from component receipt through field deployment, coordinating with Manufacturing, Logistics, and Deployment Operations
- Verify and validate risk and hazard reduction measures and support continuous improvement of safety processes and tooling
Education
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Physics (required)
- M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Physics (preferred)
