Responsibilities
- Lead material characterization and failure analysis using CT, SEM, and mechanical testing
- Develop and tailor test plans that balance programmatic risk and enable data-driven decisions
- Establish and maintain a materials property database and design allowable criteria
- Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to identify failure modes and resolve material-related issues
- Expand and prioritize lab capabilities; train others on experimental procedures and best practices
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth and technical expertise
- Use first-principles physics to guide materials decisions and analyses
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or related field (required)
- Advanced degree in Materials Science or related field (preferred)
