Senior Software Engineer, Video Pipeline
Skills
- Proficient software engineering in C++ and Go
- Strong experience with multi-threaded, reliable systems
- Practical knowledge of camera hardware, sensors, and image pipelines
- Experience with video formats and codecs (H.264/H.265, MP4, MPEG-TS)
- Familiarity with tools: FFmpeg, WebRTC, HLS, OpenCV, GStreamer
- Linux development experience and familiarity with V4L2/VA-API
- Experience building scalable video solutions in cloud environments
- Knowledge of video metadata standards (MISB KLV) and demosaicing/color conversions
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain real-time and asynchronous video feeds from remote deployments to web, VR, and CV pipelines.
- Architect and optimize video ingestion, encoding/decoding, transport (WebRTC/HLS/RTP), and storage workflows.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to design ISR payloads and camera integrations, including V4L2 and sensor handling.
- Develop reliable, multi-threaded software in C++ and/or Go for embedded and backend systems.
- Integrate and extend tools like FFmpeg, GStreamer, OpenCV, VA-API, and GPU-accelerated pipelines.
- Ensure video systems operate at scale in cloud environments and via container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Document APIs and video formats, and support third-party integrators with robust interfaces and tooling.
Education
- BS degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Advanced degree in CS, EE, or related field (preferred)
