Quality Engineering Specialist
Skills
- Metrology and inspection with calibrated tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, Faro arm)
- GD&T interpretation and engineering drawing reading
- PCBA manufacturing understanding, soldering standards (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610)
- Experience with x-ray inspection and material certificate verification
- Familiarity with QMS standards (AS9100, ISO9001, IATF 16949)
- Data-driven analysis and reporting, experience with QMS or data collection tools
- Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams
- U.S. Person Status for access to controlled data
Responsibilities
- Manage and support the Materials Review Board (MRB) process and ensure accurate data capture and closure
- Inspect and verify non-conforming parts, technical data packages, and maintain Jira QI ticket accuracy
- Assist root cause analysis for inspection/process issues, yield problems, and inspection-induced defects
- Disposition non-conforming material and execute vendor RMA workflows with Warehouse and Buyers
- Design, validate, and streamline inspection and testing procedures including Automated Optical Inspection and functional tests
- Establish maintenance schedules for inspection equipment to maximize uptime
- Create incoming, in-process, and final inspection plans per product quality engineer direction
- Train technicians and inspectors on inspection plans, procedures, and data capture
- Perform data and traceability investigations to identify trends and drive corrective actions
- Communicate process performance and quality issues to stakeholders and propose continuous improvement projects
Education
- Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience (required)
- Technical or engineering degree preferred
