 The Global Loyalty & Benefits Platform is part of the larger Enterprise Platforms Technology unit where product and engineering resources have been organizationally brought together to improve speed to market and further unlock value across core capabilities. The Global Loyalty & Benefits Platform serves a broad set of products and solutions across the enterprise that require close collaboration with colleagues who develop new card products, digital channels, marketing operations, membership rewards, co-brand programs, card benefits, analytics, operations excellence and servicing. The focus of the Loyalty API domain is building high performing APIs that power the world’s best Loyalty & Benefit experiences for our customers. 

 How will you make an impact in this role?

In the role of Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for taking on the role of an individual  contributor for the applications critical in the to the R42 Loyalty Platform in the Amex environment.

Engineering strategic frameworks, processes, and robust scalable applications that can meet the needs of a high regulated environment.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable framework/services/applications/pipelines for processing huge volume of data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet our organizational needs.

Job Description:

  • GCP Architecture design and build solutions, Big table, Spanner, Cassandra, SQL, and various Cloud technologies
  • Design and develop solutions using technologies on premise as well as on public cloud.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality.
  • Conduct IT requirements gathering.
  • Define problems and provide solution alternatives.
  • Create detailed system design documentation.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer with the objective of providing high-quality solutions and expanding the base of SME knowledge.
  • Support team in different phases of the initiative delivery including problem definition, effort estimation, diagnosis, solution generation, design and deployment.
  • Participate in unit-level and organizational initiatives with the objective of providing high-quality and value adding consulting solutions.
  • Understand issues and diagnose root-cause of issues. Perform secondary research as instructed to assist in strategy and business planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud applications with experience in leading a team
  • Industry knowledge on GCP Cloud Applications and deployment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering, or a related field.
  • Should be able to write shell scripts.
  • Utilize Git for source version control.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications.
  • Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and articulate solutions
  • Experience with managing teams and balance multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and exploit them to their optimal potential
  • Strong experience with private and public cloud application engineering.
  • Strong background with Golang.
  • Cloud experience with GCP is must
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Excellent team-player with ability to work with global team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Application Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in programming using Golang.
  • Experience with micro service design principles.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling.
  • Knowledge on Unix/Linux and Shell scripting principles.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
