The Role:
Alternative Payments is looking for a highly strategic and entrepreneurial General Manager to lead our expansion into new markets. The ideal candidate is a business builder who can move fluidly between research, strategy, and execution. You’ll be responsible for identifying, validating, and launching new markets, effectively serving as the CEO of each market you own.
This role blends elements of strategy, operations, data and analytics, product, and customer development. You’ll test hypotheses, gather insights directly from customers, partner with Product to shape our roadmap, and build the foundation for scalable growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO and COO, you’ll own the success of each new market from initial research through post-launch performance.
Key Responsibilities - What you will do
Research and evaluate new markets to determine market potential, customer pain points, and competitive landscape.
Develop the go-to-market strategy, including positioning and distribution.
Build business cases to support investment decisions and success metrics.
Partner with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to launch and scale.
Speak directly with clients and prospects to validate assumptions, test new approaches, and shape market fit.
Translate field insights into actionable recommendations for Product and GTM teams.
Manage pilot programs, analyze performance data, and iterate quickly based on learnings.
Establish and track key metrics for adoption, growth, retention, and profitability.
Lead cross-functional efforts with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
What you will Bring (Requirements):
7–10 years of professional experience in strategy, operations, or general management, ideally in B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments. Previous experience in investment banking preferred.
Experience launching and scaling new products, business lines, or markets.
Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills — comfortable speaking with executives, customers, and internal teams.
Ability to thrive in ambiguity and turn untested ideas into structured plans and tangible results.
High sense of ownership, urgency, and bias for action.
Experience leading cross-functional teams or influencing without formal authority.

Compensation
Total compensation range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000 plus equity. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the approximate total target compensation for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including relevant skills, experience, education/training.
