As an Associate II, Quality Control Labs supporting Alcon’s Quality & Regulatory Affairs function, you will be trusted to manage the batch release process to ensure quality standards and product specifications are met. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Managing the procurement, installation and validation of new metrology and microbiology equipment.

• Utilize project management tools to monitor project progress.

• Use of various measuring instruments (i.e. CMMs, Optic metrology and hand tools), testing equipment, predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to accept or reject products using component drawings and diagrams. Must be knowledgeable in GD&T.

• Create new metrology programs on a variety of metrological equipment using touch probes and optics. Analyze the metrology programs for reliability and reproducibility using statistics (Gage R&R).

• Create fixtures using SolidWorks to support dimensional inspection of components.

• Generate and execute on Design-of-Experiments (DOEs).

• Identify ongoing quality issues, prevents potential production issues, make suggestions for improvement, and update SOPs as needed.

• Work with InfinityQS (Statistical Process Control software) to collect inspection data, create inspection plans and assist inspectors with troubleshooting.

• Perform investigations into non-conformance issues and implement the corrective and preventative actions to resolve the non-conformance.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs.; Assoc.+4 yrs.)

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English 

PREFERED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Experience creating measurement programs to inspect components and understand the component designs.

• Ability to evaluate measurements and allowable tolerances.

• CAD experience.

• Experience in statistics

• Validation of equipment and evaluation of materials coming from external vendors.

• Ability to discuss and understand highly technical specifications to audiences that may not always understand the specifications.

• Continuous improvement and Quality mindset.
