Job Description - Internal Communications Sr. Manager

The Sr. Manager of Internal Communications will be an experienced and creative communications professional with strong writing, editing, leadership, and presentation skills. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Communications, you will work with various leaders across the Company to develop and execute an internal communication strategy aligned with Alcoa’s purpose, vision and values.

In this role, you will oversee, develop, and execute the strategic, executive, and functional internal communications across our global business. From creating employee-facing communications about strategic initiatives, articulating and embedding a high-performance culture, you will be a key partner within the business and across the Communications teams.

The ideal candidate will have a proactive work ethic, and a talent for developing creative approaches to difficult communications challenges while being customer-focused with a strong attention to detail and flexibility in handing changing deadlines and expectations.

The location for this role is flexible, although Pittsburgh preferred.

Key Activities

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies, including change management, under the leadership of the VP of Global Communications
  • Develop strategic and innovative internal communication plans to include writing, reviewing, and managing business-specific updates, leadership messaging, and ad hoc communications consistently across a remote and geographically separated team.
  • Partner with operational and regional leaders to ensure must-know messaging is consistently aligned with business objectives and reaches all levels of the organization through various tactics, including internal videos, presentations, and corporate-wide town hall meetings.
  • Oversee all internal editorial content on the company’s Intranet (MyAlcoa), newsletters and global town halls, working with teams to improve global connectiveness, including collaboration with information technology leaders. 
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to leaders on various challenges and initiatives, including driving employee alignment to the company’s purpose, vision, and strategies.
  • Write/produce/edit content for global employees; coordinate with various subject matter experts to measure and track success through various methods, including surveys and interviews.
  • Ensure consistency with external messages. Anticipate risks and design appropriate countermeasures.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or journalism
  • 7+ years’ experience in communications (corporate internal communication preferred) or related field such as public relations or digital content management at a large global or national company; industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in change management, problem-solving, decision-making and project management
  • Experience in working with a diverse set of employees, from front-line, entry-level production employees to C-suite executives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products.

Relevant du Vice-président des communications mondiales, vous collaborerez avec divers dirigeants de l’entreprise pour développer et mettre en œuvre une stratégie de communication interne alignée sur la mission, la vision et les valeurs d’Alcoa.

Dans ce rôle, vous superviserez, développerez et exécuterez les communications internes stratégiques, exécutives et fonctionnelles à travers notre entreprise mondiale. De la création de communications destinées aux employés sur des initiatives stratégiques à l’intégration d’une culture de haute performance, vous serez un partenaire clé au sein de l’entreprise et des équipes de communication.

Le/la candidat(e) idéal(e) aura une éthique de travail proactive et un talent pour développer des approches créatives face à des défis de communication complexes, tout en étant axé(e) sur le client, avec une grande attention aux détails et une flexibilité face aux délais et attentes changeants.

Le lieu de travail est flexible, bien que Pittsburgh soit préféré.

Activités principales

  • Développer et mettre en œuvre des stratégies de communication interne, y compris la gestion du changement, sous la direction du VP des communications mondiales.
  • Élaborer des plans de communication interne stratégiques et innovants, incluant la rédaction, la révision et la gestion de mises à jour spécifiques à l’entreprise, de messages de leadership et de communications ponctuelles, de manière cohérente à travers une équipe distante et géographiquement dispersée.
  • Collaborer avec les dirigeants opérationnels et régionaux pour garantir que les messages essentiels soient alignés avec les objectifs de l’entreprise et diffusés à tous les niveaux via divers moyens (vidéos internes, présentations, réunions générales).
  • Superviser tout le contenu éditorial interne sur l’intranet de l’entreprise (MyAlcoa), les bulletins d’information et les réunions mondiales, en travaillant avec les équipes pour améliorer la connectivité globale, y compris en collaboration avec les responsables des technologies de l’information.
  • Fournir des conseils stratégiques en communication aux dirigeants sur divers enjeux et initiatives, notamment pour renforcer l’adhésion des employés à la mission, la vision et les stratégies de l’entreprise.
  • Rédiger/produire/réviser du contenu destiné aux employés à l’échelle mondiale ; coordonner avec des experts en la matière pour mesurer et suivre le succès via des sondages et des entretiens.
  • Assurer la cohérence avec les messages externes. Anticiper les risques et concevoir des mesures correctives appropriées.

Qualifications / Exigences

  • BAC en communication, relations publiques ou journalisme.
  • Minimum de 7 ans d’expérience en communication (communication interne en entreprise préférée) ou dans un domaine connexe tel que les relations publiques ou la gestion de contenu numérique dans une grande entreprise nationale ou internationale ; une expérience dans un environnement industriel ou manufacturier est un atout.
  • Expérience préalable en supervision souhaitée.
  • Expérience en gestion du changement, résolution de problèmes, prise de décision et gestion de projets.
  • Expérience de travail avec une diversité d’employés, allant des opérateurs de production aux cadres dirigeants.
  • Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office.
