Who You’ll Work With:
The Client Group is one of AB’s largest strategic business units, with functions that range considerably throughout the firm. The program will ultimately expose the intern to the lifecycle of an investment product, from the initial generation of the idea to researching interest in the marketplace to crafting our message and finally, distributing our products and servicing our Institutional and Retail clients.
The Strategic Sales & Service department is a critical function within our organization that is responsible for the sales and servicing of AllianceBernstein’s mutual funds and separately managed account products, in direct partnership with our external sales force, in our U.S. Retail distribution channel. The department’s primary objectives are to promote sales and distribution of the firm’s proprietary investment services through third-party distribution channels while gaining a thorough understanding of client needs, assist in the development of relevant sales ideas, create outcome-oriented solutions for our clients and to support our clients in the development of sound business practices.
What You’ll Do:
The Client Group Summer Internship Program provides students with opportunities to learn about business development, client service, sales, and specific strategies we offer to clients, as well as the opportunity to develop their communication, networking, and problem-solving skills. This is offered through a firm-wide onboarding program, ongoing training, informal and formal mentoring programs, sessions with senior leaders, networking, and social events.
Understanding our firm’s mission and values as well as product offerings in the U.S. retail market
Initial training is both formal instruction and on-the-job, and includes broad capital markets, AB products, services, procedures and policies, and consultative selling skills curriculum
Working closely with internal and external wholesalers to develop processes that will help support the team effectively
Conducting competitive analysis for the team to generate data for our clients to use to monitor and adjust investments
Assisting the team in managing their territories to help keep them organized
Leverage and interpret large robust data sets to execute on actionable sales campaigns
What We’re Looking For:
Candidates should be top academic performers, be interested in the investment management industry and meet the following criteria:
Spring 2027 Bachelor’s degree candidates in business, finance, economics, data science, math, liberal arts, or similar program
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
Eligible to work in the US, without sponsorship
Strong analytical and communication skills
Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player and self-starter
Client-focused with a high degree of professionalism, motivation, and initiative
Interest and intellectual curiosity in learning about all aspects of the retail investment management business and capital markets
Interest in successfully completing the Security Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 63 licensing exams for consideration in a full-time role post-graduation
Candidates must be available to work full-time from June through August.
It is not permissible to simultaneously take academic classes or hold other employment that will conflict with the internship schedule.
Selected candidates will need to successfully complete a thorough background check.
Please note that if given a full-time return offer the start date would be July of 2027
