Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc., is seeking a Project Manager III in New York, NY.

Job details:

  • Oversee financial performance across a portfolio of projects, conducting in-depth financial analysis and ensuring profitability.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation.
  • Provide strong leadership by guiding cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration between client and the engineering team, and ensuring successful execution that exceeds client expectations.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale projects ($10M+), incorporating financial forecasting, evaluating diverse cost models, and ensuring accuracy in budget planning.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level client interactions, presenting project performance updates, financial reports, and invoice management.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs to mitigate risks, adhering to AECOM’s project delivery guidelines.
  • Provide strategic inputs to senior management on long-term portfolio planning.
  • Assess potential project risks and uncertainties, implementing strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Lead business development efforts in the energy sector by identifying emerging market opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and contributing to long-term growth initiatives.
  • Lead procurement efforts across multiple projects, including negotiating contracts, managing subconsultant agreements, and ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Support large-scale energy projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Train junior staff in AECOM tools such as Coupa, Workbench, and ABC, fostering knowledge transfer and operational efficiency.
  • May telecommute.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Position requires:

  1. Energy project management, grid modernization, renewable energy, substation design, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and utility scale solar installation;
  2. Working with regulatory agencies, utilities, and public-sector energy initiatives;
  3. Project financial expertise, including tracking key performance indicators such as net margin, net service revenue, and gross margin;
  4. Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel modeling and financial analysis;
  5. Project management tools: Procore, e-builder, and MS Project;
  6. Business development, client management, and contract negotiations;
  7. Managing project budgets, ensuring cost optimization and financial forecasting; and
  8. Financial modeling, risk management, contract management and procurement strategies.
