Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc., is seeking a Architecture II in New York, NY.

Job details:

  • Perform architectural and engineering calculations.
  • Prepare reports, and related data tables.
  • Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Prepare and review drawings as required. Independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • Assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel. Assist design teams in developing designs for public buildings and preparing construction documents.
  • Provide regular updates on project status.
  • Perform a self-check of work products prior to submitting to others.
  • Contribute by solving straightforward problems and applying experience to atypical assignments.
  • Assist in guiding more junior staff.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Position requires:

  • Occupancy classification and construction type.
  • Transportation design.
  • Performing building code analysis based on building types and project requirements, such as travel distance and egress width.
  • Basic energy codes and calculating building energy efficiency such as R values and U factors, using basis of design material/product data.
  • Design in compliance with codes and standards including New York City Building Code, Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Energy codes.
  • Architectural graphic standards and drawing protocols and producing a set of architectural drawings as a part of contract documents.
  • Building materials and components, working with product vendor and drafting required building/ construction details.
  • AutoCAD, Revit, Rhinoceros, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Building planning and spatial needs.
  • Managing building and project data in BIM360
  • Preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practice, standards, and procedures.
  • Performing coordination with other disciplines including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural.
  • Applying information and documents from vendors and manufactures for the reference of design.
  • Architecture License.
