The Process Engineer will work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, EHS, and quality teams to improve process efficiency, troubleshoot production issues, implement best practices, and support cost-effective, safe, and sustainable manufacturing practices. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach, a strong foundation in process engineering, and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
Promote and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE .
Support plant goals by implementing management directives related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Review and maintain engineering documentation, including P&IDs, system designs, and equipment specs.
Lead or support troubleshooting of production issues, including bottlenecks, equipment failures, and product quality deviations.
Analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing processes in recycled paper plant and tissue production.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools such as Centerlines, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and JSAs.
Coordinate process changes and improvements with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to ensure regulatory compliance. Provide technical support in fiber recycling, wet lap, and tissue manufacturing processes.
Participate in or lead cross-functional projects, process upgrades, or capital initiatives.

Starting Salary: The proposed salary range is $65,000–$70,000 for Engineers and $45,000–$48,000 for E&I Technicians.
Workweek: Standard office hours are typically from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday; however, these hours may vary depending on the specific location and the level of support or issues that arise at the mill
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, or related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in paper manufacturing, fiber recycling, or similar process industry preferred.
Strong knowledge of process troubleshooting, material & energy balances, and equipment sizing.
Demonstrated ability to analyze technical data, interpret trends, and implement effective solutions.
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across all organizational levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); exposure to DCS systems or manufacturing software preferred.
Ability to write and present technical reports, SOPs, and project recommendations.
Experience leading or participating in process improvement initiatives, ideally in a Lean or Six Sigma environment.
