We’re hiring Venture Creators to launch new companies in our Logic track, focused on AI, compute, robotics, IT.

 

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to co-create breakthrough startups from day zero. As a Venture Creator, you'll lead the end-to-end process of company creation—shaping venture theses, assembling world-class founding teams, and guiding research-backed ideas toward scalable, investable businesses.

You’ll focus on the Logic track—working with technologies and markets aligned to AI, compute, robotics, IT. This role blends company building, talent scouting, and founder mentorship—with the capital, infrastructure, and global platform of a world-class university.

You’ll collaborate with Innovation Catalysts and Market Discovery Leads to align research from NUS labs with real-world need, pressure-test early ideas, and drive the transition from concept to company. You’ll also provide feedback on projects that need further development, helping shape the broader pipeline.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Shape venture theses – Identify high-leverage scientific breakthroughs and develop them into scalable, fundable startup opportunities.
  • Define early strategy – Architect go-to-market plans, business models, and value propositions.
  • Recruit founders – Attract and match exceptional technical and commercial co-founders.
  • Build & launch – Support MVP development, capital raising, hiring, and company formation.
  • Lead partnerships – Build relationships with academia, industry, and investors to unlock strategic traction.
  • Deploy capital – Steward resources across ventures with discipline and speed.
  • Govern and mentor – Serve as a board member or advisor to portfolio companies, shaping leadership and long-term direction.
  • Strengthen the ecosystem – Help shape the culture, cadence, and operating model of NUS Enterprise’s Silicon Valley presence.

Founder DNA

  • Experience building from zero—whether a lab, program, business unit, or company.
  • Track record of translating research into real-world traction (e.g., licensing, partnerships, revenue).
  • Strong grasp of team-building, fundraising, and early execution.

Operator Cred

  • Executive experience in AI, compute, robotics, or IT industries or technical ventures.
  • Familiarity with supply chains, regulation, scale-up manufacturing, and enterprise sales.
  • Hands-on deal experience with strategic partners or customers.

Investor Mindset

  • Experience investing in or managing a portfolio of IP-backed ventures.
  • Familiarity with early-stage deal structures, valuation, and diligence.

Boardroom Acumen

  • Board or governance experience; bonus for executive-level participation.
  • Understanding of exit paths (M&A, IPO, tech transfer) from both sides of the table.

Tech Fluency

  • Ability to translate complex science into business logic and startup narratives.
  • Deep appreciation for research-driven innovation; STEM degree preferred.

Global Perspective

  • Experience operating across borders; Asia exposure strongly preferred.

 

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with venture capital, translational research, or university spinouts.
  • Background in science, engineering, or technical product development.
  • Go-to-market, product, or early hiring leadership.
