Project Manager - Construction

We are excited that you are thinking about taking the next steps of your career at Wolverine Building Group and joining us to positively impact people and communities. Wolverine Building Group is recognized nationally as a leader in the construction industry. We specialize in industrial, multi-unit residential, healthcare, office, retail, and restaurant construction. We're proud to be nationally recognized as one of the "Best and Brightest Companies to Work For."

As an experienced Project Manager, you’ll provide technical leadership and oversight for commercial construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will manage client relationships, subcontractors, and internal teams while promoting a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for a candidate who understands Design-Build delivery, has expertise in Industrial market segments, and is experienced with Warehouse, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Office sub-segments. You will spend 2–4 months in our Grand Rapids office to familiarize yourself with Wolverine’s culture and processes before transitioning to reside in the Kalamazoo area.

What You'll Do
  • Lead multiple commercial projects through all phases — from design and estimating to closeout.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and contracts, ensuring all goals are met safely and efficiently.
  • Oversee projects across Design-Build, Industrial, Warehouse, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Office segments.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success and satisfaction.
  • Identify and resolve design, construction, and logistical challenges proactively.
  • Mentor and develop team members, including Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Superintendents.
  • Ensure safety-first practices are consistently applied across all projects.
  • Track project performance, manage change orders, and maintain accurate dashboards and financial updates.
  • Champion company values, ethical standards, and inclusion in all interactions.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction.
  • Expertise in Design-Build and Industrial market segments, including Warehouse, Manufacturing, Transportation, or Office projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, estimating, and contract management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients and teams.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license.

If you’re a skilled project manager with Design-Build and Industrial experience, passionate about delivering exceptional projects and fostering strong teams, we’d love to hear from you.
