Engineering Manager

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and driven engineering leader to head our Column Manager Technology Group, where you’ll shape the future of high-performance liquid chromatography column manager technology. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the design and development of next-generation Column Managers.

 

You will lead a dedicated team of engineers in creating pioneering Column Manager technology and modules. This is a highly collaborative position that collaborates with multi-functional teams in a dynamic Agile environment. Mentorship and technical leadership will be key as you inspire your group to achieve breakthrough solutions in analytical instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical lead on cross-disciplinary projects, delivering high-performance subsystems in alignment with the Waters Instrument Development Process
  • Contribute as a hands-on engineer by conducting detailed analyses and developing designs that align with product requirements and support new product introductions.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Supervise and mentor a multi-functional team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers to execute complex system designs
  • Drive innovation in LC column manager technology, promoting next-generation capabilities and integrating breakthrough ideas into product pipelines
  • Design and implement advanced thermal control systems using resistive heaters, Peltier devices, and real-time thermal algorithms to ensure optimal environmental conditions and performance stability
  • Evaluate team output and champion continuous improvement initiatives across engineering workflows and operational procedures

Qualifications

  • Min Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Masters preferred.
  • Entry level management position.
  • 10+ years in product development experience.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and technical skills, with a consistent track record in developing complex systems.
