Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical and surgical care for patients presenting to the emergency hospital
- Triage and stabilize emergency cases, perform diagnostics and develop treatment plans
- Perform emergency soft-tissue surgeries and manage perioperative care
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners about diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options
- Document medical records, treatments, and case notes in the hospital’s system
- Collaborate with technicians, support staff, and other veterinarians during shifts
- Participate in hospital meetings, trainings, and occasional team events
- Maintain clinic equipment, follow safety protocols, and uphold hospital standards
Education
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- Current Washington state veterinary license or ability to obtain licensure
- Controlled substances registration as required by state law
