Senior Technical Support Engineer

Verkada is a fast-growing leader in cloud physical security, providing an integrated, AI-powered platform used by thousands of organizations worldwide. We are seeking a Senior Technical Support Engineer to own and resolve complex customer issues across our product suite, collaborate with Engineering and Product teams, and help scale and mentor the support organization while working on-site at our San Mateo headquarters.

Skills

Strong network fundamentals (HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls)
Wireless and cabling knowledge (802.11, Ethernet, PoE) and experience with electrical devices
Hands-on troubleshooting across software and hardware stacks
Experience with Linux and scripting or coding (Python, APIs)
Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Responsibilities

Perform full-stack troubleshooting across network, hardware, software, and electrical domains for the Verkada platform
Own customer issues and escalations from intake through resolution, documenting findings and next steps
Provide best-practice design, installation, and configuration guidance to enterprise customers and partners
Communicate technical concepts clearly to customers and partners, both verbally and in writing
Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams to reproduce, test, and prioritize bug fixes
Develop tools, processes, and documentation to improve team efficiency and scale support operations
Mentor and support other engineers on difficult cases and communication strategies

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Networking, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, IT, Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or Cybersecurity
Degree from an accredited university
