Valon is scaling up its mortgage lending business, which aims to provide Valon homeowners the ability to access low-cost, streamlined mortgage loans and give Valon partners tools they need to retain customers. As a member of the Lending department, you will make it faster, easier, and cheaper for homeowners to get loans by reinventing the homeowner’s journey. We’re seeking a Consumer Direct Mortgage Loan Officer to provide loan solutions for existing and prospective customers of Valon Mortgage. This individual will be responsible for providing best-in-class customer service to support Valon’s strategic goals. The primary objective of this role will be to recapture future purchase and refinance loans for customers with mortgages within Valon’s servicing portfolio, strengthening customer and investor relationships.
Serve as customers’ primary point of contact throughout the lending journey.
Recommend curated loan solutions to prospective and existing Valon customers.
Escalate customer concerns to management to ensure timely resolution.
Streamline and manage pipeline, meeting required pull-through ratios and production targets.
Collect customer documentation as required by investor guidelines.
Analyze documentation and disclosures for accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with other members of the department to meet deadlines efficiently.

Bachelor’s degree—or equivalent work experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of federal regulations (e.g. RESPA, TILA, ECOA, TRID, CFPB).
Active MLO state licenses in NMLS.
Thorough understanding of the underwriting process and agency and investor requirements.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with other team members.
3+ years of mortgage originations experience.
2+ years of consumer direct mortgage experience.
Previous experience with relevant technology (e.g. DU, LP, Encompass, CRMs).
Ability to obtain and maintain MLO state licenses throughout tenure with the company.
Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Compensation: Competitive salary plus monthly commission on all production up to 55 Basis Points and a 401(k) plan—with a 4% annual match!
