The Prospect Research Analyst (PRA) provides research support for gift officers (GOs) and other TEXAS Development stakeholders at UT Austin. PRAs will have a foundational role in realizing TEXAS Development's goal of becoming a $1B/year fundraising operation and advancing UT's strategic plan to become the world's highest impact public research university. PRAs are tasked with remaining focused on the following Prospect Research Management (PRM) priorities:
Increase volume of prospect names for Gift Officers (GOs), particularly GOs largely doing discovery work and GOs in their first, second, or third years of building a portfolio.
Conduct deeper strategic research on prospective donors who are rated and engaged.
Proactively identify new donor prospects through research tools/databases, industry news and other sources/methods to build and maintain a dynamic prospect pipeline for assigned development staff.
Gather, evaluate, and communicate information regarding prospective donors' biographical information, philanthropic interests, giving capacity, connections and related activity.
Compile extensive reports of comprehensive donor information, including due diligence research findings; compile abbreviated reports of select/limited donor information.
Build and foster strong relationship with assigned Prospect Management Analyst (PMA) pairing/partner.
Remain in regular communication with colleagues (PMAs, PRAs, Gift Officers, Development Associates and other stakeholders) to respond to prospect research requests as outlined in the PRM Levels of Service and ensure highest level of support to assist development officers in meeting their fundraising goals.
Maintain prospect data quality and confidential information.
Adhere to prospect research procedures, policies and standards.

Bachelor's degree.
One year of experience in prospect research or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize among a variety of tasks and simultaneously monitor and maintain multiple projects.
Excellent written communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
Professional demeanor.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Two years of experience in prospect research or a related field.
Experience with development databases and donor information services such as Blackbaud, Foundation Directory, iWave, LexisNexis Universe for Development Professionals, Wealth-X, and other online prospect research tools. Experience with Salesforce Affinaquest a bonus.
Experience proofreading/editing, fact-checking and knowledge of AP Stylebook or another reputable style guide.
Familiarity with the recommended skills, mission and vision outlined by Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).
