Job Details:
Design and prototype all audience interactions on an immersive StoryCorps project—ensuring each experience provides meaningful agency, participation, and intuitive engagement across TXI’s five vision statements.

We empower artists, scientists, and humanists with access to cutting-edge technology and research to design experiences that address significant challenges.
Purpose:
Support the creation of Immersed in Our Stories, a storytelling project and experiential manifesto designed to celebrate five years of Texas Immersive Institute by inviting every participant to explore, play, and reflect through TXI’s mission.
Responsibilities:
Develop interaction models and choice-driven mechanics for each of the five experiences.
Facilitate playtesting and rapid prototyping with internal testers.
Lead accessibility reviews to ensure inclusive design practices
Translate experience design into creative briefs for technical and fabrication collaborators.
Support asset production, focusing on usability and emotional resonance.
Required Qualifications:
Current UT Austin Graduate Student
UX Design for immersive media (AR, spatial audio, interactive web installations)
Prototyping tools (Figma, Unity, Spline, Webflow, etc.)
Strong grasp of participatory design and agency-driven storytelling
User testing facilitation and audience insight synthesis
Preferred Qualifications:
