Senior Model Risk Analyst
Skills
- Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (MS/PhD preferred)
- 1-5 years of applied modeling or data science experience
- Proficient in Python and strong SQL skills
- Experience with modern ML techniques (Random Forest, Gradient Boosted Trees, etc.)
- Familiarity with Model Risk Management and SR 11-7
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to communicate technical findings to varied audiences
Responsibilities
- Review and validate statistical and machine learning models across Credit Risk, Fraud, Marketing, and Operations.
- Challenge model methodology, data processes, and outcome analysis to identify gaps and improve performance.
- Assess model documentation, assumptions, limitations, and regulatory compliance (e.g., SR 11-7).
- Perform quantitative validation tests, backtesting, stability and performance analysis.
- Collaborate with Decision Science, Credit Risk, and other stakeholders throughout the validation lifecycle.
- Research and evaluate new tools, techniques, and best practices for model development and validation.
- Prepare clear written validation reports and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide recommendations to mitigate model risk and monitor model performance post-deployment.
Education
- MS or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related quantitative field
