DESCRIPTION: This is professional services work in teaching academic subjects at schools operated by the State or at state institutions throughout Maine. Responsibilities include testing students, developing curricula and educational plans, instructing classes, and evaluating student progress. Work is performed under limited supervision.

A Bachelors Degree in Education or related field.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class).
Maine Teacher's Certificate for appropriate subject and/or grade(s) as issued by the Department of Education.
EXAM PLAN: (This must be successfully completed by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class).
