Job Summary:
Math teachers develop and execute engaging and interactive math lessons creating an environment which allows students to think critically and independently. The teachers are responsible for developing curriculum, supervising students both in and out of the classroom and maintaining up-to-date teaching techniques to provide students with a quality educational experience. Teachers build relationships with students, families, and staff in order to foster a culture of community. Teachers are expected to maintain strong lines of communication with families about student progress, and to support and collaborate closely with colleagues in the pursuit of Lab’s mission. We are looking for team members who emanate optimism, share feedback to solve problems, reflect on how their actions impact others, and take ownership of creating a learning environment and culture in which they want to participate each day.
Responsibilities:
The Math Department is responsible for the math education of students in grades 6 - 12.
The courses taught by the Math Department include Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Discrete Math, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
Two levels of math classes, regular paced and accelerated, both of which are college preparatory, are offered. Math teachers report to their respective Principals and are responsible to the Math Department Chair.

Bachelor's degree in Math or related fields required.
Advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
Two years of teaching experience required.
Experience teaching high school math strongly preferred.
Teaching experience at any level of math preferred.
Experience developing curriculum strongly preferred.
Experience working with a wide range of students with diverse backgrounds, such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, learning abilities, class, language and nationality, preferred.
Technical Knowledge or Skills:
Ability to use standard productivity software (Microsoft Office, calendar/schedule software, etc.) required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Ability to move in and around the classroom/building to interact with students, faculty, staff, parents, and other members of the community.
Ability to move class-related equipment/tools, as appropriate, around school property.
When appropriate, the ability to escort children from one classroom to another, in and out of the building during arrival and dismissal, and in an emergency situation.
Ability to demonstrate lessons, when appropriate.
