About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in San Jacinto, CA
- Schedule: Mornings on weekends
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
- Focus Area: Foundational ELA and Math
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children with autism, apraxia of speech, and/or sensory processing needs
- Familiarity with early childhood education, Pre-K to 1st-grade curriculum
- Skilled in behavior management and maintaining a calm presence during challenging moments
- Ability to blend academic learning with movement, visuals, and sensory supports
- High energy, enthusiastic, and able to make learning fun and interactive
- Male tutor preferred, based on student's learning history and family request
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement short, structured learning intervals (e.g., 5-minute reading, 10-minute math sessions) to support engagement and self-regulation
- Incorporate sensory breaks and student-led interests (especially cars) into sessions to maintain motivation
- Use animated, playful teaching strategies while maintaining clear boundaries and consistent expectations
- Create a calm, supportive learning environment and respond to signs of frustration with patience and positive redirection
- Communicate regularly with the family to align on goals and share updates on progress
- Be open to using or learning visual, creative, or play-based instructional approaches
