About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

• In-Person Tutoring in La Quinta, CA
• Schedule: Flexible, to be arranged with the family
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
• Focus Area: Reading Comprehensio, Writing and Language Development

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with elementary students in special education settings
• Familiarity with supporting students receiving OT, speech therapy, and ABA services
• Strong skills in reading instruction, writing development, and language support
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs
• Patient, flexible, and creative approach to tutoring
• Reliable and able to provide in-home sessions in La Quinta, CA

Key Responsibilities:

• Support development in reading comprehension and the ability to express ideas effectively through writing.
• Assist with handwriting skills, focusing on proper pencil pressure, spacing, and legibility.
• Enhance language and communication skills, encouraging louder, clearer speech and greater confidence.
• Incorporate varied teaching modalities and multisensory approaches to accommodate learning differences.
• Collaborate with the student’s team of therapists (OT, speech therapy, ABA) to reinforce strategies and goals.
• Adapt lessons to the student’s pace and interests, creating engaging and motivating learning experiences.
• Provide a supportive, patient environment that fosters growth, confidence, and independence.
