Your Impact:

As a Software Engineer at Torch, you’ll help evolve an established and fast-growing platform that powers millions of dollars in transactions and serves thousands of dental practices across the country. You’ll build and refine the systems that keep our marketplace, payments, and logistics running efficiently and intelligently.

You might:

• Design and scale distributed services that ensure seamless ordering, payments, and fulfillment

• Develop data pipelines and synchronization workflows that keep product, pricing, and order data accurate across systems

• Integrate intelligent automation and LLM-based tooling to streamline internal operations and enhance customer experience (e.g. parsing invoices, maintaining our catalog, surfacing product insights)

• Improve system reliability, performance, and observability across a growing service architecture

• Collaborate across teams to deliver full product features end-to-end, occasionally contributing to frontend implementation as part of complete feature ownership

• Partner with engineering leadership to define architecture standards, guide technical direction, and shape the evolution of our platform

You’ll play a key role in building the systems that power Torch’s next stage of growth - helping us scale a mission-critical platform that healthcare providers rely on every day.

• 3+ years of experience in a professional engineering environment
• Interest in backend systems and complex distributed workflows
• Comfort with Python, NodeJS, Java, or other backend implementation languageA strong interest in building impactful, user-facing products
• Some familiarity with a web server framework like Express, Flask, or Rails
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Experience working in product-driven teams
• Curiosity about how large language models (LLMs) and automation can improve real-world workflows and backend systems
• Experience designing and deploying services from the ground up
• Taking open-ended projects to completion and owning outcomes
• Background in healthcare, logistics, or e-commerce systems

• Salary Range: $150K - $190K
