Join a world-class academic healthcare system, Ingalls Memorial as a Pharmacy Technician in the Outpatient Pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will rotate through all work areas of the pharmacy department and work as a team player to achieve pharmaceutical care for the patient.
The Pharmacy Technician prepares inventories, orders drugs and supplies from pharmacy storeroom, receives drugs and stocks shelves in the pharmacy, additionally, the Pharmacy Technician facilitates the timely preparation of medications by prioritizing orders, seeking out the pharmacist for assistance when necessary and working to prioritize urgent medication dispensing. Completes and passes required annual technician competencies in a timely fashion. Complies with all departmental, hospital, and regulating agency policies or recommendations. Complies with all state and federal laws regulating their practice. Prepares outpatient prescriptions. Performs cashiering duties and assists in the training of new pharmacists and technician employees in their work areas.

Position Details
In this role, we anticipate that you will generally work approximately 40 hours per week. We anticipate that you will generally be scheduled to work the Day shift and will not be scheduled for on-call shifts. We anticipate you will be scheduled to work 100% at Ingalls Memorial. The days of the week that you are scheduled will be Monday-Friday, and one Saturday per month.

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
