In this role as a Staff Pharmacist, you will provide a quality level of comprehensive pharmaceutical services demonstrating sound judgment based upon knowledge and application of professional, departmental and organizational principles and standards.
The person in this role demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge to provide care to the patient population served by the organization which includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The Clinical Staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care consistent with departmental/hospital philosophy, mission statement, professional standards, and policies and procedures, in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Observes and adheres to all corporate compliance requirements and communicates issues as they arise to the appropriate parties as identified in the Corporate Compliance Plan.
Essential Job Functions
Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all medication orders prior to dispensing by evaluating patient information including (but not limited to) age, weight, relevant medical characteristics, and laboratory results.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide patient care.
Supervises pharmacy technicians working under their direction to provide the following and assure the completion of:
New or refill prescription processing, including order entry, claim adjudication, prior authorizations, financial assistance, and other needs based on the practice setting
Scheduling of new and refill prescriptions for pickup or mail order delivery
Preparation of prescription orders, including the fulfillment, packaging, dispensing, and distribution of medication orders
Checking for expired medications
Maintaining drug inventory, including replacement or restocking of medications including
Other activities related to pharmacy practice setting

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
