Responsibilities
- Complete mapping requests and spatial analyses to support departmental needs
- Lead long-range planning initiatives and department-wide programs (e.g., Green Schools, Composting, Green Businesses)
- Coordinate complex program activities with other divisions, agencies, and external organizations
- Gather, analyze, and report data to identify trends and inform recommendations and strategies
- Support special studies, program evaluation, and compile statistical data
- Develop and review city ordinances and environmental planning documentation
- Perform technical writing, project evaluation/implementation, and data management
- Continuously monitor and improve program quality, responsiveness, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Provide educational outreach and public engagement related to environmental and sustainability efforts
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Urban Planning/Design, GIS, Architecture, Geography, Landscape Architecture, Historic Preservation, Archaeology, Architectural History, Real Estate Development, or related field (required)
- Candidates without the stated degree may be considered with equivalent and additional relevant work experience
