Responsibilities
- Oversee acquisition of property interests for capital improvement projects through negotiation or eminent domain
- Prepare eminent domain documentation for unsettled property acquisitions
- Present formal recommendations for council approval and attend public meetings
- Coordinate with City Attorney's office and other departments on real estate agreements
- Lead relocation assistance for displaced residential and commercial property owners
- Manage third-party consultants and approve related expenditures
- Ensure project compliance with State and Federal agencies
- Respond to inquiries regarding land issues and prepare reports
- Negotiate property sales or lease terms and assess property values
- Analyze real estate trends and prepare status reports
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, real estate, urban planning, or related field
