Skills
- Production-scale model development for tennis or sports betting
- Strong foundations in probability, inferential and Bayesian statistics
- Experience with MCMC and advanced statistical methods
- Proficient in Python and relational SQL
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud-based data environments
- Experience with source control (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD workflows
- Excellent verbal and written communication for cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and productionize machine learning and statistical models powering tennis and sports betting products
- Create contextualized, sports-specific feature sets using tennis domain knowledge
- Lead all stages of model development from proof-of-concept to deployment with data engineering and product partners
- Continuously evaluate models via rigorous offline and online experimentation and iterate to improve performance
- Analyze model outputs to identify weaknesses and direct development priorities
- Follow software engineering best practices, contribute to shared codebases, and document modeling work
- Present modeling results and technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related technical field required
- Master's degree in a relevant field highly preferred
