Responsibilities
- Implement and enhance backend features and APIs to support product growth and reliability
- Refactor and modernize legacy codebases for performance and maintainability
- Design scalable, performant, and maintainable service-level architecture
- Write clean, testable code and participate in peer reviews
- Make technical tradeoffs balancing speed, scale, and simplicity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, QA, support) to define and ship features
- Document designs, decisions, and implementation details for a remote-first environment
- Own services in production including monitoring, incident response, and incremental improvements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
- Advanced degree is a plus but not required
- Demonstrable professional experience in lieu of formal degree is accepted
