About the Role
We’re looking for a Communications & PR Lead to own and build StudyFetch’s communications strategy from the ground up. You’ll be responsible for shaping the company’s public voice, securing high-impact media coverage, and crafting narratives that amplify our mission across tech, education, and culture. This role blends storytelling and strategy; from writing press releases and founder op-eds to managing media relationships and preparing executives for interviews. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure every message reflects our brand, values, and vision. As the first dedicated communication hire, you’ll have the autonomy to define our PR function, experiment with new storytelling angles, and play a visible role in elevating one of the fastest-growing education startups in the world.
Key Responsibilities
Build and execute StudyFetch’s communication and PR strategy; securing earned media across tech, education, and culture outlets
Proactively pitch stories and manage relationships with journalists, editors, and podcast/booker teams
Write press releases, launch narratives, and thought-leadership content that position StudyFetch as an industry leader
Write founder communications, including op-eds, LinkedIn/X posts, and speaking remarks
Maintain a unified brand voice across website, newsletters, and product announcements
Develop talking points, media briefs, and prep materials for executive interviews and events
Identify and develop storytelling opportunities around StudyFetch’s users, culture, and product milestones
Support crisis communications and reactive media responses with clarity and judgment
What We’re Looking For
5-8 years of experience in communications, PR, editorial, or brand writing (startup or agency background preferred)
Proven ability to secure earned media; please include clips or campaign examples
Exceptional writing and editing skills; able to simplify complex topics and craft compelling stories
Experience ghost writing or shaping the voice of executives or brands
Deep understanding of internet culture, academia, and Gen Z tone dynamics
Highly organized, proactive, and confident operating independently in a fast-moving environment
