Sr. Sourcing Specialist, Construction (Starlink) - job 1 of 2

SpaceX is developing technologies to enable humans to become a multiplanetary species. The Sr. Sourcing Specialist, Construction (Starlink) will join a fast-moving procurement organization to lead sourcing, supplier selection, and cost-reduction strategies for construction materials, MEP equipment, and contractor services supporting Starlink infrastructure.

Skills

Strategic sourcing and supplier selection
Construction procurement and proposal evaluation
Should-cost modeling for MEP equipment
Contract negotiation and supplier management
ERP data mining with Excel, SQL and Power BI
Portfolio spend management (high-spend experience preferred)
Analytical problem-solving and large dataset analysis
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to travel up to 20–50% and work extended hours when required
US work-authorization compliant with ITAR

Responsibilities

Create sourcing strategies that reduce risk, drive continuous cost reductions, and align with company objectives on payment terms, cash targets, on-time delivery and savings
Build cross-functional relationships and lead teams to consensus on sourcing opportunities
Evaluate construction delivery methods and recommend the most appropriate approach per project
Review and organize construction proposals using Masterformat divisions
Evaluate contractor safety and EMR ratings to identify potential risks
Develop should-cost models for MEP equipment (chillers, HVAC, electrical panels, wiring, piping, plumbing fixtures)
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and services
Maintain and expand a healthy contractor pool and anticipate demand for upcoming projects
Negotiate favorable terms including price, delivery schedules, and quality standards
Oversee supply chain activities to ensure timely delivery and coordinate with project managers to avoid delays
Create and manage the end-to-end RFP process and evaluate bids to identify negotiation opportunities and risks

Education

Advanced degree OR bachelor's degree with 2+ years relevant experience
OR 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Preferred: Master’s degree in supply chain or an engineering discipline
