- MMIC design experience with GaAs and/or GaN technologies
- Circuit-level and EM simulation skills for PAs, LNAs, mixers, filters and PLLs
- Experience with RF simulation tools (ADS, HFSS, AWR or equivalent)
- Hands-on familiarity with RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, VSG/VSA, load-pull, probe stations)
- Schematic and layout experience and ability to collaborate on PCB/module design
- Programming for modeling and test automation (Matlab, Python, C++ or equivalent)
Responsibilities
- Derive hardware and MMIC block specifications from system requirements
- Design, simulate and model RF front-end circuits (PAs, LNAs, switches, mixers, PLLs) at circuit and EM levels
- Develop MMICs from specification through layout, prototype characterization, and production qualification
- Partition functions with system, modem/DSP and ASIC teams to balance hardware/software tradeoffs
- Define packaging and module-level implementation and collaborate with PCB and RF engineers
- Characterize and analyze prototype MMIC performance and iterate designs
- Support development of automated lab test equipment and production test strategies
- Work with manufacturing engineers to implement production testing and yield improvements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- MS or PhD in RF/MMIC, microwave engineering, or related fields (preferred)
