Skills
- Experience creating structural, civil, or MEP construction documents (plans, elevations, sections, details)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or other MEP design software
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R, controls, fire protection, concrete, and structural framing
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Familiarity with building codes, standards, and permitting processes
- Project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control skills
- Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
- Self-motivated with a mentality of extreme ownership
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
- ITAR eligibility (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or ability to obtain required authorizations
Responsibilities
- Lead MEP design and coordination for residential, commercial, and industrial projects
- Prepare and review design drawings and documents for mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems
- Manage construction activities and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements
- Write and manage construction contracts and oversee subcontractor close-out
- Perform project control tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
- Coordinate permit acquisition and approvals with city, county, and government agencies
- Oversee full lifecycle from concept through customer turnover and operational handover
- Coordinate with facilities and customer teams to operationalize post-construction operations and maintenance
- Manage night-shift contractors and take on ad-hoc projects as business needs demand
Education
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, civil, electrical, or structural engineering
