- Mechanical and electromechanical design and analysis experience

Responsibilities
- Design and analyze solar array components from photovoltaic cells to integrated electro-mechanical assemblies
- Own mechanical systems and tooling for solar array sub-assemblies
- Prepare detailed technical design review content and drive design reviews
- Ensure production outcomes across yield, uptime, and cost for Starlink solar factory
- Collaborate with GNC, Avionics, Operations, Payloads, Materials, and other partner teams
- Provide analytical rationale via hand calculations and FEA where applicable
- Produce engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications for purchasing and manufacturing
- Write, design, and execute electrical and mechanical test procedures and verification plans
- Design and conduct process qualifications using DOE and statistical process control
- Implement DFM changes with supply chain and production partners to meet factory rates and cost targets
- Review on-orbit performance data and respond with manufacturing and design solutions
- Develop novel materials and component solutions in partnership with Materials Engineering
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace, materials, or related engineering fields (preferred)
